CM launches inter-State Delhi-Baraut bus service

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh on Tuesday launched the inter-State DTC bus service between Delhi and Baraut, Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Gupta said she has instructed the Transport Minister and DTC officials to ensure that bus service on new routes is launched every month.
“When I became the Chief Minister, I would always wonder why Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh buses are plying in the city, but no DTC bus goes to other States. The previous governments had stopped the inter-State bus service. They did not do anything to ensure more revenue,” she said.
Gir hoteliers allege massive scam in online safari bookings

Rajkot/Ahmedabad: The Sasan Gir Hotel Association, representing over 90 hotels and resorts near Gir National Park the home of the Asiatic lion has alleged a massive scam in the issuance of online safari permits.
The association claims that permits for peak holiday periods, particularly around Christmas and New Year, are being sold on the black market, depriving genuine tourists of access.
On Monday, association representatives met officials from the cybercrime unit and the forest department in Gandhinagar, urging an investigation into the reported irregularities.
The issue has not cropped up recently. Despite the widespread complaints, a senior forest department officer said no decisive action has been taken as these entities are officially registered and possess GST numbers.In one instance, a forest officer successfully complained after realizing he had booked through an unofficial site, and the money was refunded following the intervention of a local beat guard.
Association president Vinod Jivani told TOI that permits for Dec 26-31 were fully booked within just 18-20 minutes. “It takes 7-8 minutes for a single person to complete a booking, Including filling in details and uploading ID proof.
Delhi-Kathmandu international bus service resumes after being suspended since last month due to unrest in Nepal

State Bureau, New Delhi: The Delhi-Kathmandu international bus service resumed on Friday, after being suspended last month due to the worsening situation in Nepal.
Bus services were suspended on September 10th due to unrest in Nepal. One of the two DTC buses operating under this service was also stranded there. Bus services were resumed after the bus returned safely and the situation improved.
A Delhi government official said that there is still some decline in the number of passengers after the resumption of services, but it is expected to improve soon.
The bus covers a distance of 1,167 km and costs ₹2,800. It operates six days a week, with DTC buses running from Delhi on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and Nepal’s Manjushree Transport buses running on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
